Nostalgia Meets High Tech: Texting by Lamplight

Posted under Antiques & Cell Phones & High Tech & Home Office & Nostalgia & Smart Phones & Technology & Text Messaging

Oil Lamp and DashEarlier this evening we had the misfortune of being without power. This predicament is fairly common in our area thanks to a few irresponsible homeowners who live down the road. It seems they allow their trees to become severely overgrown with vines and these vines then attach themselves to the power lines.

Now, I am no electrician… the electrician in the family is my brother, William. However, I am thinking that these overgrown vines must put some kind of strain on the power lines because every time the vines become out of control it blows a fuse in the street transformer!

Rowena Gilbert - Owner and Founder of AGHS & Castle of Spirits

Like many people I adore watching television shows about ghosts and paranormal such as Ghost Hunters on The Sci-Fi Channel. There is just something about the unknown that really manages to draw in people from all walks of life.

Oy Vey! What a Cockamamie Professor!

Posted under Art Institute & Higher Education & Professors & Web Design

I swear, for such a “prestigious” institute of higher learning the Art Institute of Pittsburgh sure hires inadequate professors. It seems like every other instructor I get is either incompetent in their field, dang near an absentee instructor, or both!

For those of you who do not know me personally, I’m receiving my B.S. in Interactive Media and Web Design and will soon be receiving my M.S. in Educational Technology. I have been designing and developing websites professionally for a few years now and love, almost, every minute of it. I also privately tutor a few adults in web design for a nominal fee. So, as anyone can see, I’m quite experienced in web design!
